Captain L. F. W. Sykes Killed
News has been received in Huddersfield that Captain L. F. W. Sykes, of the West Yorkshire Regiment, a native of the town, has been killed in France.
Captain Sykes was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sykes, formerly of Skipton Avenue, Fartown.
Captain Sykes, who was twenty-three years of age, was the adjutant of his Battalion. Before he joined up he was acting cashier at the head office of the York County Savings Bank.
Only seven weeks before going abroad he was married to Miss Phyllis Chapman, of Naburn, York.
