My Aunt, Irene Singleton, was a member of the choir, and I still have her gold medal in my possession. As well as being a singer, she later played the violin, and played second violin in Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra. She also lead the ad-hoc orchestra for Longwood Sing, for many years, and became a peripatetic violin teacher in several Huddersfield schools.
