Hello,
If any descendants of the Pogson family from New Zealand log in to this website, following up on the bio from Benjamin Pogson’s page, and read this I’ll be happy to hear from you. I have researched the family line as far back as is reasonably possible and have info and photos that might interest you. The easiest and most secure way to contact me initially is either via this discussion on Huddersfield Exposed or directly through this Contacts page link to my website. It’s not an essential requirement for getting in touch but I’d be interested in seeing any old family photos that you may have inherited, particularly a decent photo of Benjamin Pogson if one exists.
Cheers
Dave
I’m researching this ancestor of mine. He lived at 69 Clement Street, Birkby and was killed in action in WW1 on 11.11.1914. I’m fine with info about his military service and death which is well recorded but have little about where he might have worked between 1912, when he moved to Huddersfield with his parents and his death in Flanders in 1914. He was a milling machinist in Leeds before the move. His elder brother Frank worked as a brass finisher at Hopkinsons, Valve Makers in Huddersfield. It’s possible he worked there with him but I’m not aware of any employee records available for research. If anyone has any information, especially, about where he might have worked in Huddersfield, I’d be pleased to learn about it.
Cheers
