Richard Bailey:
My great-grandfather, Ambrose Bailey, was the recipient of a walking stick presented in appreciation of services rendered as a trustee from 1910 to 1927. This citation was displayed on a silver band on the walking stick. I would welcome more information about the Loyal Yorkshireman Lodge 204 and any reference to Ambrose Bailey’s role before 1927?
Dave Pattern:
Hi Richard! I’ll see if I can unearth any further newspaper articles about the lodge or Ambrose. I’ve updated the page to note that lodge was formed in 1825. it might be worth contacting the Brighouse branch as I’m sure I read somewhere that they have archives for some of the local branches: https://www.oddfellows.co.uk/Branches/10050/Brighouse-Branch
