On behalf of the Holmfirth history group, we are still looking for a ”hook” which we can commence researching.
What about the prequel to the disaster? I did a search in Huddersfield archives which has a lot of documents from the 1830s
The engineering and supervsion/ project management errors. I am going to ask our Civic Society members if they want to help. A structural engineer would be very useful if we can find one.
Other ideas did include what happened to the local population. Did they leave? If so where did they go in search of work/ housing.
But we might choose a totally different approach – it needs to be a team effort.
