My great-great grandfather’s second wife Emma Mills (nee Holt) became the Inn Keeper of the Spotted Cow in 4th April 1894. Her previous pub had been the Palace Hotel on Princess Street. Emma died on the 17th March 1895. The previous Inn Keeper of the Spotted Cow had been Vincent Bush who acquired the licence on 15th November 1893. Following Emma’s death Licence holders were Benjamin Boothroyd 3rd April 1895, Michael Cain 16th October 1895 then George Hirst.
The Owner of pub was Messer’s Bentley Ltd., Yorkshire Brewers, Woodlesford, Near Leeds .
