NEWS OF SOME LOCAL SOLDIERS
In Hospital
News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. R. Clay, of 103 Ashgrove, Manchester Road, Slaithwaite, that their son, Pte. Fred Clay (21), who was serving with the B.E.F. in Belgium, is in a military hospital in this country with a shrapnel wound in the left ankle. Before joining the Army Pte. Clay was a weaver at Clough House Mill, Slaithwaite.
