Thongsbridge Airman Killed in Action
Official notification has been received by Mr. and Mrs. A. Robinson, of Shaley Wood, Thongsbridge, that their only son, Aircraftman First-Class Henry Robinson, was killed in action in Egypt on June 11. It is believed that he is the first Holmfirth man killed in action in the present war.
Aircraftman Robinson, who was twenty-one years of age. joined the R.A.F. in January, 1938, and some months later he went out to Egypt for a term of three years. He was formerly employed on the office staff at Messrs. Wood and Burtt, Ltd., Ford Mill, Holmfirth. He was educated at the Wooldale Council School and the Holmfirth Technical Institute, and attended the Wooldale Wesleyan Church. He was engaged to be married to Miss Peggy Taylor, of Cliffe, Holmfirth.
