Corporal W. Greenwood, of 13, Forrest Avenue, Marsh, is twenty-three, and is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Greenwood. He was educated at Oakes Council School and Huddersfield College. He was employed by Messrs. William Sykes, Ltd., Horbury.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Greenwood, of 13, Forest Avenue, Marsh, have been officially notified that their youngest son, Corporal W. Greenwood, of the 2/7 Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, who was formerly posted as missing, is now a prisoner of war in Germany. He was educated at Oakes Council School and Huddersfield College. He was the travelling representative for Messrs. William Sykes, Ltd., Horbury. Corporal Greenwood is twenty-three years of age.

LOCAL SOLDIERS NOW REPORTED PRISONERS
Corporal W. Greenwood
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Greenwood, of 13, Forrest Avenue, Marsh, yesterday afternoon received a short letter, dated June 20, from their youngest son, Corporal W. Greenwood, who is a prisoner of war in Germany. He informs them that he is quite safe and well, and is being well treated. He also states that Platoon Sergeant-Major Douglas Harpin is with him and, if possible, they intend to stick together.
Corporal Greenwood, who is twenty-three years of age, was reported to be a prisoner of war on August 16, and was captured when serving with the 2/7th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment in France. He was educated at Oakes Council School and Huddersfield College. Before the war, Corporal Greenwood was the travelling representative for Messrs. William Sykes, Ltd., Horbury.
