LOCAL AIRCRAFTMAN’S DEATH
Mr. Frederick Green, of Longley Road
Mrs. Green, of 69, Longley Road, Huddersfield, has been officialy informed that her husband, First-class Aircraftman Frederick (Ted) Green, of the Royal Air Force, has died at an aerodrome in this country. He was a native of Doncaster, but had lived in Huddersfield for many years, and was well known among a large section of the business community. For a number of years he was the carpet buyer for Messrs. Taylor and Hobson, Ltd., carpet makers and upholsterers, New Street, but three months before the outbreak of war he left their employment for that of Messrs. Lunn and Cardno.
Aircraftman Green, who was forty-one years of age, served as a flying-officer with the Royal Flying Corps in the Great War. Some time before the outbreak of the present war he joined the ranks of the R.A.F. as a reservist, and was called up for service a week before war was declared. Since then he had served as a driver in the Air Force.
Aircraftman Green is survived by his widow and two young children. His mother lives at Doncaster.
